QFCRA issues warning about fraudulent website

Doha, Qatar, Monday, 7 October 2024 – The QFC Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) has issued a warning to investors and the public about a fraudulent website operating under the domain “www.aaqinvestment.com”.

This website falsely advertises financial services such as loans, banking products, and investments, and falsely represents itself as the official website of AAQ Investment LLC, operating under the domain “https://aaqholding.com”, a legitimate licensed firm in the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC).

Despite claims on this fraudulent website that it is a Qatari company, the website has no connection to AAQ Investment LLC, the QFC or Qatar. The QFCRA advises the public to disregard this website, avoid clicking on any links, and refrain from providing any personal information.

AAQ Investment LLC has no association with this website and does not provide financial services to the public. AAQ Investment LLC is only licensed by the QFC Authority to provide the business of holding companies.

The QFCRA strongly cautions against interacting with the representatives listed on “www.aaqinvestment.com” for financial services or with anyone claiming to offer financial services on behalf of AAQ Investment LLC.

“The QFCRA is committed to safeguarding consumers and takes every necessary action to combat fraudulent entities targeting investors and the public. We urge everyone to stay vigilant and always verify the identity of financial services firms and their representatives before engaging with them,” said Farah Al Muftah, Managing Director at the QFCRA.
