Preservation of the Arabic language
Rules in Arabic
Ta’arib, the orgranisation’s programme established
in 2017, aims to Arabise and translate all QFCRA
materials, publications, and legislation. In 2021, the
programme took on the translation of QFCRA Rules.
By Q4 of 2021, the QFCRA published the Collective
Investment Schemes Rules 2010 (COLL) rules in
Arabic, matching local drafting practices to the
common law-based document.
MOCI grants Property Intellectual
Rights to Lughatna
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) granted
the QFCRA Intellectual Property rights to Lughatna,
the organisation’s bilingual lexicon of business
vocabulary used frequently in the financial sector.
First published in 2017, Lughatna includes five sections
pertaining to Accounting, Anti-Money Laundering,
Insurance, the QCB, and the QFC/QFCRA’s general
business. Today, Lughatna serves as a reference that
helps to maintain a consistent business language
across QFCRA’s communication.
