Whistleblowing framework Whistleblowing: 2019 referral statistics

The Regulatory Authority introduced an enhanced 1 January – 31 December 2019
QFC whistleblowing framework in 2018. The framework
outlines appropriate mechanisms for making confidential
reports about alleged wrongdoing by QFC authorised
firms or persons connected with these firms. Enquiries (whether in or outside jurisdiction) 7*
These anonymous reporting mechanisms provide
confidentiality, anonymity, and protection for persons
making reports, and help to foster a climate whereby
employees are more likely to report or seek guidance Out of scope matters 0
regarding potential or actual wrongdoing without fear
of retaliation by their employer, such as immediate
termination or ongoing harassment on the job.
2019 marked the first full year of operation of these Matters under assessment 2*
anonymous reporting mechanisms.
